SA TEEN ATTEMPTS TO JOIN ISIS

ISIS, (sometimes known as ISIL and later renamed simply Islamic State) is a Jihadist militant group in Iraq and Syria influenced by the Wahhabi movement. A 15 year old South African girl was stopped as she was on her way to join jihadists.

The Capetown based girl had been in the past active on social media talking about her mission with the members and was stopped just before she took a plane to Turkey where she would then proceed to Syria.
An investigation is under way as to how far this network goes, whether there is a cell in the country, and what the methods of recruiting and funding are.
According to South African reports, investigators found evidence in the girl’s room linking her to recruiters for Isis, jihadists who have captured swathes of Syria and Iraq and who have attracted hundreds of foreign fighters.
In February, the United Nations Security Council warned South Africa against terror groups that might use the country as an operational base.

There has been a rise in the number of teenagers fleeing and disappearing unceremoniously going to join the group that beheads people or hangs them if they do things that the group finds "unholy". They loathe JIhadists who wear skinny jeans and have Music on their phones and they do not hesitate to kill you if they see you with those.

Meanwhile, the Capetown teenager has reconciled with parents...but wont they fear living with someone who was willing to go and join a group that kills people alive.
